How to download & install TradingView Desktop
Installing the desktop app is quick — most people see their first chart within two minutes. Whatever your OS, it's the same three steps: download the installer → run it → sign in to sync.
Step 1: Pick the right installer
- Windows: grab the
.exe— Windows 10 / 11, x64 and ARM64. - macOS: grab the universal
.dmg— Intel and Apple Silicon (see native ARM builds). - Linux: choose
.deb,.rpmor the distro-agnostic.AppImage.
Step 2: Run and install
On Windows, double-click the .exe and follow the prompts. On macOS, open the .dmg and drag the app into Applications. On Linux, mark the AppImage executable and run it directly. Before installing, consider verifying the SHA-256 checksum to confirm the file is intact and untampered.
Step 3: Sign in to sync
Log in with your TradingView account and your layouts, watchlists, alerts and scripts appear automatically — nothing to reconfigure. The app checks for updates on launch.
Key takeaways
- Windows → .exe, macOS → .dmg, Linux → deb/rpm/AppImage.
- Verify the checksum before installing for peace of mind.
- Sign in once — everything syncs, updates are automatic.
Ready? Installation takes about two minutes.
