Desktop offline & cache explained

"Can I still see charts offline?" is a common question after installing the desktop app. The answer: yes, but you're seeing the cache — recent layouts and already-loaded history are viewable offline, while live quotes naturally need a connection.

What works offline

• Open recently used layouts and charts;
• Browse already-loaded historical candles;
• View your saved drawings and indicator settings.

What doesn't

Server-backed features pause: live quotes, pulling longer history, cloud alert triggers and syncing new changes. When the network returns, data resumes and changes re-sync.

Why it helps

Compared with the pure web app, the desktop cache feels steadier on weak or flaky networks — switching layouts and reviewing history don't wait for a reload every time. It's one reason heavy users prefer desktop (more in desktop vs web).
