Price alerts: the complete guide
Alerts free you from 24-hour screen-watching — hand key levels to the system and come back when they trigger. Using them well is a big step toward efficiency and fewer emotional trades.
Creating an alert
The fastest way is right on the chart: right-click a price (or a line you drew, or an indicator) → Add alert. You can also click "+" in the alerts panel to configure manually. On desktop the shortcut is Alt + A.
Trigger conditions
- Price: crossing, greater/less than, entering/leaving a range;
- Indicator: e.g. RSI crossing 70, a moving-average cross;
- Drawing: price touching a trend line or horizontal you drew.
Delivery and frequency
Alerts can reach you by desktop popup, phone push, email or webhook (phone push is most useful — it arrives even with the app closed). On frequency, choose once (fires and ends) or every time (recurring) — once for breakouts, recurring for a range you're watching repeatedly.
- Trigger on price, indicators or drawings; right-click is fastest.
- Deliver to desktop/phone/email/webhook — phone push is most useful.
- Pick one-time vs recurring to fit the scenario.
Desktop supports always-on alerts and system notifications — never miss a level.
